ASC was retained to build the strategic brand, marketing communications and public relations strategy and support the coordination of event logistics. During this engagement, we also led the creative design which included the creation of a unique logo, event website, program guide, marketing collateral, and event signage. The goal for the inaugural summit was to convene rare disease policy makers and stakeholders in Washington, DC for a rich dialogue around ways to improve policies that affect rare disease companies developing the life-changing, and in some cases life-saving, therapies for people living with rare diseases.

the results

The inaugural 2022 Business of Rare Policy Summit, with a theme of “Unleashing the Golden Age of Rare Disease Innovation through Policy and Partnership”, hosted three panel discussions, two keynote speakers, one fireside chat and brought together roughly 100 rare disease policy stakeholders and advocates. It also concluded with “A Rare Pairing”, a wine reception that provided a unique, intimate opportunity for connection and networking by attendees. The event took place at the Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.

ASC developed all communications and executed a successful, targeted public relations and social media strategy that resulted in an 817% growth of the firm’s LinkedIn page followers, more than 42,000 post impressions, establishment of a new KPM Group DC YouTube channel and fresh traffic to the firm’s website. In addition, ASC managed the build out of a dedicated event website and marketing communications to drive attendance.

Overall, the event secured four headline sponsors – Alexion, AstraZeneca Rare Disease, BioAgilytix, GenSight Biologics, and Stealth Therapeutics and three supporting sponsors – PharmaEssentia, the Rare Disease Company Coalition (RDCC) and Travere Therapeutics.
