the situation

TFX Capital was planning for the launch of its third fund at a key period of growth for the Charlotte-based venture capital firm. The firm’s thesis is grounded in investing in former military and national security leaders that are building technology-enabled businesses. The team recognized the great potential of these entrepreneurs, and wanted to convey this thesis in a meaningful and impactful way that resonated with their targeted investor and innovator audiences. 


the project

ASC was retained to review, assess and create an intentional messaging and brand strategy for TFX Capital, including the development of content for a new website, an industry-focused thought leadership series, and support for an annual event. As an extension of their core team, ASC also assisted in the development of peripheral activities – including the development of a 501(c)3 brand, podcast and editorial content, and earned media engagement, ensuring alignment with the overarching TFX corporate narrative. 

the results

After an intentional, data-driven process, ASC presented a refreshed content strategy that immediately went into practice. Our team assisted in refreshing all communication channels, including content for the interim website, presentation materials and social media accounts, and oversaw the design and development of a new website that launched in early 2022. In addition, ASC supported the development of a new corporate video and generated both earned and owned media content, including an op-ed placement, two featured profile articles, nearly a dozen media mentions, a leadership press announcement, and four industry-focused thought leadership articles. TFX Capital is well positioned for continued growth, and systematically aligned on a core message that is driving increased brand awareness and audience engagement.
