Welcome Beth Bolding to the Team!

2022 is a year of growth. Growth in clients; growth in capabilities; and growth in our team. I am thrilled to introduce our latest new hire – Beth Bolding! As our new Vice President and Director of Digital, Beth will build out and lead our digital marketing capabilities. We heard it loud and clear from our clients – and also from our acute awareness of today’s changing media landscape. Communications can not be siloed – and we are thrilled to now seamlessly integrate our clients’ public relations and digital marketing strategies into one cohesive strategy. The addition of Beth completes this goal for ASC, offering to our clients a one-stop-shop for strategically building and executing against an informed communications strategy.

Beth comes to ASC after more than a decade of working with in-house creative teams. Most recently, she filled the role of Marketing Manager for the Jackson College of Graduate Studies at the University of Central Oklahoma. Her varied experience includes roles at corporate retail headquarters such as GameStop and Hobby Lobby, as well as roles in higher education across a number of public universities and technology centers. She holds a bachelor’s degree in strategic communications from the University of Central Oklahoma and is currently pursuing a master’s degree.

I invite you to get to know Beth in these 20 questions. It’ll be fun! 🙂

Do you go by any other names than Beth? Nicknames?

My given name is Elizabeth but my parents started calling me Beth at a young age and is what I most frequently go by.

What’s your favorite social media platform?

I’m not sure I can choose just one! The evolution of social media is fascinating to me. I love Instagram for photos and inspiration, TikTok for laughs, entertainment and recipes, and LinkedIn for networking and learning new tricks of the trade. I enjoy Twitter for news and chatter, and I mostly use Facebook to keep up with my family and close friends who are globally scattered.

Where did you graduate from College?

I earned a bachelor of arts in strategic communications from the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO), and I am currently pursuing a master’s degree at UCO as well.

What was your first job?

From the age of 15, I worked for various hotels and restaurants near my hometown of Perryville, MO. I continued working in restaurants throughout college and then settled into a graphic design career at GameStop’s corporate headquarters.

What is your favorite media source?

My go-to source is NPR, specifically on Google Home every morning with my coffee while I review my email and calendar.

Do you prefer podcasts, audiobooks or music?

I love music and podcasts! I’m a bit nostalgic when it comes to books and prefer the real thing. I enjoy podcasts, especially those that are more conversational. Oprah’s Super Soul Conversations is my go-to podcast while I’m taking long walks around the neighborhood, and I also like to listen to my favorite spiritual leaders.

For the music genre, I love listening to Americana, Blues, and country. Traveling for music is something my husband got me into early in our relationship and it’s where I feel most connected to life. But, while I’m working, I have Spotify to keep me company and I enjoy music festival playlists when I really need some inspiration and motivation to pump out a project.

Where is your favorite place to be or vacation spot?

I’d rather be in the mountains. “The mountains are calling and I must go.” When I think about getting away to relax and unwind, I think about going to the mountains to hike, think, wander, and I especially enjoy doing this with my daughter and husband by my side.

What is your favorite line from a movie?

“It’s all happening!” from Almost Famous. It IS all happening, all the time and that line is suitable in so many scenarios.

If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor?

I have one and she’s my grandma. She is the most well-rounded, spiritual soul I’ve ever met in my entire life. She’s my hero.

How did you hear about Anna Stallmann Communications?

Through a former coworker/colleague and now once again, here at ASC.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?

I always thought being an art conservator would be amazing. Restoring and preserving the works of famous artists who were so beyond their years of discovery and innovation of their times is so fascinating to me.

Do you have any pets?

Does a Betta fish count?

You have 30-minutes of free-time, what do you do?

Read, close my eyes and wander into the abyss of thoughts circling my head, or I’ll call/text a relative or close friend. I’m probably talking to my grandma though.

What is something new you learned in the last week?

It’s more of a discovery, but on our way to dinner last weekend my husband and I stumbled upon the Bale Creek Allen Gallery in Fort Worth (Texas) and learned about the intricate process of assembling the bronze tumbleweeds on display. Artist Bale Creek Allen disassembles each stem of the tumbleweed to bronze them, and then welds each stem together again.

How do you balance career and family?

By giving myself a lot of grace! ASC’s culture makes it easy to balance both.

Who is your favorite news anchor (past or present)?

My favorite fictional anchor is Veronica Corningstone (Anchorman) for her grit and tenacity in a man’s world!

What’s your favorite ice cream flavor?

You see, this depends. If there’s hot fudge involved, then let’s just stick with vanilla. Chocolate, vanilla swirl if we’re having a cone, and cookies and cream if we’re having a mix.

What motivates you in life?

My family. I always strive to be a better version of myself for them.

Favorite way to write – paper, laptop, talk to text?

It depends on the assignment, but typically I love a notepad and pen or pencil. Can you tell I like paper?

Tell us something that might surprise us about you?

In high school, I auditioned and earned a spot and performed in the 2003 Orange Bowl pregame and halftime show with the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) with two of my best friends!
